Dr. Santino, MD, is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) doctor. His goal is to help you improve your overall health and wellness while trying to minimize use of medications. 


Education


Dr. Santino received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998, and completed a one-year medical internship at Forest Park Hospital, St. Louis in 1999. This was followed by his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Washington University, completed in 2002. He obtained a BS in Biology from Northern Illinois University. Dr. Santino also holds a PhD in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University.  Dr. Santino completed extensive coursework on both acupuncture and chinese herbals through Academy of Pain Research in San Francisco. In addition, Dr. Steve Santino took an extensive course on aromatherapy offered by Aurora Healthcare, in association with RJ Buckle Associates. He is also very interested in using medical hypnosis for treatment in addition to medications. 


Associations


Besides his primary certification as a physiatrist, Dr. Santino is a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine (ABPM), in recognition of his expertise in pain medicine. Dr. Santino is also a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and the American Medical Association (AMA). He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH).  

Dr. Santino was in group practice in Sheboygan for seven years before opening the Holistic Pain Management & Wellness Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.


Personal Info


Dr. Santino grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Santino likes spending time with his family.  Other interests include bowling, camping, and private aviation.
